What is Sober Living?

Sober living a very important extension of the addiction recovery process. At Our Father’s House sober living homes, addicts may continue their recovery in an environment where drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. At Our Father’s House sober living homes, recovering addicts reside together while performing normal daily tasks such as going to work or school, as well as, attending outpatient treatment. Although treatment for addiction is not provided by the sober living homes, residents in a sober living home will work together and provide peer support to help each other stay clean.

Who Lives in a Sober House?

Are you wondering if you are a potential candidate for a sober living home? The people who live in sober living homes are recovering addicts who have already completed an inpatient treatment program and are “not quite ready” to return to their regular home. A sober living house provides addicts with a safe place to live and continue to receive support while transitioning from inpatient treatment back to a normal daily routine.Not everyone can attend our sober living house. Only those who are strictly committed to their own sobriety and who have already detoxed from drugs or alcohol will be accepted to our sober living homes. Additionally, Our Father’s House Inc sober living homes have very strict policies regarding sober living and the residents who live in the homes. Our Father’s House have a zero tolerance for the use of drugs or alcohol and will evict the addict from the home in the event that they are caught using drugs or alcohol while at the facility.

Sober House Rules

Our Father’s House sober houses has it’s own set of rules and regulations that residents must abide by in order to continue living at the home. Some require a set amount of time to be spent in outpatient treatment each week while others may simply require that the addict not use drugs or alcohol while living at the home. When you enter Our Father’s House sober living, you will be provided with the sober house rules that you must abide by.

Although the rules of a sober house may differ from one house to another, the primary purpose of Our Father’s House sober house is to provide a living environment where individuals can safely transition from inpatient treatment to regular living. Our sober house rules are therefore based on helping addicts to remain sober and make a smooth transition back to a normal daily routine.
